LMP2 is a Media Player in the LCARS-interface used in the Star Trek series with a great number of supported file formats (AVI, WAV, MP3s, MPEG, Quicktime-Movies, Real Medias, AIF, ...). Moreover it has a Playlist function integrated, so that it automatically plays your favourite files, and not only according to the order you set as it can shuffle as well.Furthermore the LCARS Media Player can play audio CDs and of course it can also save and recognize track names. Upon the first insert of a CD, it will offer the option to automatically download information about the inserted CD like name, artist and track names from the Internet CD database.
